REPUBLICAN PARTY
Like many young college
students, Pat became active in the Republican Party during the Goldwater
presidential campaign. He has actively supported Republican candidates in
Cobb County for over 30 years and received a Special Recognition award
from the Republican Party of Cobb County in 1993.
Pat successfully ran for the Republican nomination
for Solicitor
(now Solicitor General) for the State Court of Cobb County, and defeated
the democratic incumbent in the general election in 1984.
Pat served two complete terms as Solicitor, and did not seek
re-election to that office.
In July 1998 in a special election to fill the un-expired term of the former District Attorney, Pat received the Republican nomination for District Attorney of the Cobb Judicial Circuit, was elected in November and assumed office on November 5th of that year.
In December 2003, the Republican Women's Club of Cobb County presented the first annual Trumpet Award to Pat for his many years of dedicated service to and promotion of the Republican Party in Cobb County.
